Re: Frequently Asked Questions
Q-25 One thing i really love to know about these scanadavian countries, if it is said that sun remain
for six months and no sun after six months, then how is prayer timing set when their is no sun ?
This is not true in Finland. It is not a complete 6 month long night or day in finland(only in norway n some parts of sweden).Shortest day length is about 6 hours in month of november similarly shortest night length is about 4 hours in month of june .Prayer timings are adjust by local mosque authorities or Islamic centres..I have not yet encounter any difficulty in offering prayers as far as timings are concerned..

Q-26 Also love to know once you graduate or post graduate you find jobs easily or you just then have to leave
the country immediately within some time?
I have not yet seen a single pakistani who have not got job after completing his masters in IT.Mostly get their job.or they find various other means to live here..like going for Phd etc..Finnish authorities do not ask u leave u finland ultimately infact they give u some time to find any job over here if u r interested(told by my senior).

Re: Frequently Asked Questions
Q-33 What sort of Attestation of Documents we need for Finland?
Ans:
wat ever documents u wud send shud be attested from Notary Public (foreign attestation)..
Foreign attestation:
foreign attestation is just a bit different from normal local attestation...
in foreign attestation they wud charge u about 5 or 6 PKR per page ...
for local it is 3 Rs/page..
They will also put a golden sticker on ur documents...
Documents to be attested:
Now as far as which documents shud be attested?
1- IELTS result photocopy (if u r sending it by urself..if AEO is directly sending the result to university than there is no need for ielts photocopy)
2-Degree photocopy ( B.E. , intermediate , matric )
3-Transcript photocopy (only B.E.)
4-passport photocopy (first two pages)
Documents which do not need any attestation:
1- letter of recommendation from teachers (in most of the cases university requires sealed envelopes from teacher n even if it is not sealed , recommendation letter contains the stamp from university and also it is original not photocopy so there is no need for attestation )
2- statement of purpose or letter of motivation..
3- CV
4- experience letter (as usually they are original, but if photocopy than u may attest it as well....i did not attach any experience letter with my application...its not the requirement )
5-pakistan engineering council certificate ( NOT required ...original or photocopy)

Re: Frequently Asked Questions
Q-37 Give us a comparison between Finland & Sweden??
Ans:
well if u see ranking on web, Certainly u would feel that swedish educational standard is far much higher then Finland....upto some extent may be its true....but i personally feel that universities like Tampere and HUT are v gud and competitive to any swedish university....
2nd there is a Job perspective....some of the students feel that Finland is gud as far as job situation is concerned....(both Odd and regular IT job).......but it also depends wat choice do u have..? like if u get admission in Lapland Finland(not many jobs) and also in KTH stockholm, sweden((some jobs) than i wud suggest u to go sweden.....
Also one of our brother Qaisor bhai advised me Finland when i ask him same question when i was making a decision abt sweden n finland...n it was a v gud advise....as he told me that here in finland we have opportunities of
paid Thesis,
Internships,
Regular IT jobs,
Funded Phd etc.....
where as in sweden you do not have such opportuinities...Also in sweden, mostly 80% students are those who want to go europe just for doing odd jobs as such students do not have v gud educational background and getting admission in sweden is realtively Easy as compare to Finland...so those students usually got success in getting admission in sweden but failed in Finland....I hope u can analyze by urself now....

Q-40 WHAT ARE JOB OPPURTUNITES IN THE CITY OF VAASA.?
Ans:
Few Odd Jobs opportunities, swedish language is needed for most of the odd jobs...It is a coastal area...so there is a ship cleaning company "SOL" which hires foreigners but usually there are lot of chinese in this company.....So do not think that there are lot of jobs for pakistanies....
But There can be IT programming jobs in Vaasa......so if u know programming v well than i dun think that u will remain unemployed for a long time..but again.....Vaasa is not a industrial city like Tampere nor a capital like Helsinki so Overall job situation is not v gud for pakistanies over there...

Assalam o Alikum
I need your help. I am Zia ur Rehman, currently living in Pakistan. I have done BE in Biomedical Engineering from NED university, Karachi. I am stuck in a serious issue and i want to get out from it as soon as possible. I have got admission in MS in nano science and nanotechnology in KU Leuven, Belgium and MS in Biomedical engineering, Finland. I don't know which country to follow. There are mix opinions from group of people. One says it is not easy to live in Belgium because you are on your on funding. Some says Belgium is less industrialize than Finland. There is less possibility to get part time jobs in Belgium and stuff like that. I want to know from members who have experience regarding all these. I have very short time little as I have to apply for Visa. Please response to my mail as soon as possible.
